چکیده

Weeds represent an increasing challenge for crop systems since they have evolved adaptability to adverse environmental conditions, such as salinity stress. Herbicide effectiveness can be altered by the quality of water in which weed is growing. This research aimed study combined effect salt stress and recurrent selection with a sublethal dose imidazolinone herbicides shifting sensitivity Echinochloa colona (L.) Link (junglerice) herbicides. was divided into two experiments; experiment I, three cycles were conducted Pelotas/RS/Brazil imazapic + imazapyr at 0.125× field rate; II, Fayetteville/AR/USA imazethapyr, recommended dose. Salt implemented irrigation 120 mM sodium chloride (NaCl) solution. The effective 50% control population (ED50) values increased from second generation (G2) after stress, supporting hypothesis reduced susceptibility combination these abiotic factors. Recurrent exposure or plants

Characterization of Fenoxaprop-P-Ethyl–Resistant Junglerice (Echinochloa colona) from Mississippi

A population of junglerice from Sunflower County, MS, exhibited resistance to fenoxaprop-P-ethyl. An 11-fold difference in ED50 (the effective dose needed to reduce growth by 50%) values was observed when comparing the resistant population (249 g ae ha ) with susceptible plants (20 g ae ha ) collected from a different field. The resistant population was controlled by clethodim and sethoxydim at...

Salt sensitivity of children with low birth weight.

Compromised intrauterine fetal growth leading to low birth weight (<2500 g) is associated with adulthood renal and cardiovascular disease. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of salt intake on blood pressure (salt sensitivity) in children with low birth weight. White children (n=50; mean age: 11.3+/-2.1 years) born with low (n=35) or normal (n=15) birth weight and being either small ...
